Totally run down resort, has bern left for years, all very unkempt. Staff untrained, just young boys do not know how to even make tea. Breakfast poor quality, not much in quantity. Poor area dirty water green uncleaned, in shade due over grown trees not kept well. Bathroom very old taps hardly working, mold in bathroom, only salt water no fresh water at all. Towels in bathroom hard and stained. Towels for beach hard, tatty and stained, all very old. Pool and beach chair cushions very old dirty and stained. Old ruins of apartments on site, the massage area looks like it's been hit by a hurricane falling down and in disrepair. Basically very rundown and in need of a total renovation everywhere. No bar area as mentioned in their hotel description. I'm not sure when the photos on the website were taken, but it does not look like the same hotel.

We stayed at the Sunrise Resort on Gili Air for 6 nights. The resort has a good location with a lovely beach with snorkelling and turtle watching just off shore. However, this resort is shabby, dirty and rundown. The staff were quite unhelpful. The breakfast was very basic and poor quality. The bedrooms were ok - good but the bathrooms were poor. The swimming pool was murky and green on the tiles. I have stayed in 3 star resorts all over the world and this resort was the worst value I have ever had. We paid $240 aud per night where $100 would have been more suitable. Lesson learned the price doesn’t determine how good a hotel will be.

I stayed at Sunrise for a week and it was excellent. The highlight of the hotel is definitely it’s position on the beach. Sunrise’s stretch of beach is situated at some of the best off the beach snorkelling on Gili Air - u can swim straight from the beach and reach the reef drop off where you can see lots of fish, coral and turtles. I saw turtles everyday apart from one during my stay. The hotel itself is peaceful and the swimming pool is set back from the beach which ensures an element of privacy. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and the hotel has good Wifi and also has 4G signal should you need it. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. In particular Yoga, Tino and Sufan were especially welcoming, amenable and friendly over the course of my stay. The hotel has a very relaxed vibe which fits in well with its surroundings in Gili Air. Their laundry service is great should you need to wash anything - my clothes were washed fast and I received them back very quickly. My only suggestion would be that I think the menu needs to offer a greater variety of local Indonesian dishes - the dinner menu is overwhelmingly Western and whilst the food was good, it would have been nice to see Sunrise’s restaurant offer a few more Indonesian options. Overall a throughly enjoyable stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially if you are keen on snorkelling and wish to stay in a relaxed but smart and comfortable hotel with a fantastic beach location and excellent service. I hope to return to Sunrise in the future !

Très mauvais rapport qualité prix L hôtel ne mérite pas 4 étoiles et est beaucoup trop cher, ce fut l hôtel le plus cher sur 16 jours à Bali et le moins bien. Même s il est bien placé , la plage est étroite , la piscine est mal exposée L ensemble de l hôtel est sale , (coussins , tasses, tables ) le petit déjeuner est très décevant : nappes sales , saladiers vides , très mal présenté… il y a un problème certain de personnel , qui n est pas à la hauteur. L accueil aussi n est pas agréable On comprend bien que l île a subi le séisme puis le covid , mais il y a d autres établissements beaucoup mieux sur l île et surtout moins cher, le prix n est vraiment pas justifié . Chambres néanmoins plutôt confortables, mais mal isolées , on est facilement gêné par les voisins …

Very convenient location and fine for what we needed. A short stop for 2 nights on Gili Air as part of a longer holiday with 2 sons (13 & 11). Beach is great (lots of coral so sea shoes helpful). Lots of good restaurants nearby also good. Property needs a little attention in places but it is fine for what we needed. Some other reviews are a bit negative which is unfair given where in the world it is so people with very high end expectations should stay elsewhere.

The breakfast buffet was not great. We had to constantly ask for plates, utensils, cups, no refills on coffee. Some food was out with no server available to refill. The staff were not very attentive compared to other places. O

The hotel may not be perfect and giving it a five might be a high number, but the truth is the way that they're rebuilding this thing and the way that they take care of their guest is quite amazing. They're in a challenging situation after they had a huge earthquake years ago and they've been working hard on making this place betterand I've only been here for a few days, but they have been working every day diligently on doing repairs.

Beautiful beachfront location — the view is stunning and the area is super peaceful. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. I loved the calm vibe of the resort, perfect for relaxing and disconnecting. Great spot to stay on Gili Air!
